bank-affiliated asset manager. MSBT held more than $381 million in assets under management through July 16. Morgan Stanley's ETF and ETP platform has grown to more than $14 billion in assets across 22 products since 2023.
Ally Wallace, global head of ETFs at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, called the additions a "natural evolution" of a product suite designed to give investors simplified access to digital assets. Amy Oldenburg, Morgan Stanley's head of digital asset strategy, said digital assets are becoming a larger part of diversified portfolios. She pointed to governance, infrastructure and risk management as central to the firm's approach.
The launch comes 12 days after E*TRADE from Morgan Stanley completed its rollout of spot trading for bitcoin, ether and SOL. Eligible clients can buy, sell and hold the three assets through infrastructure provided by zerohash. Morgan Stanley now offers direct crypto trading through E*TRADE and exchange-traded exposure through its investment management arm, placing bitcoin, ether and SOL across two of the firm's main investor channels.
