New/expanded AI platform hardware (Vera Rubin/Vera CPU and RTX Spark) plus an institutional Buy reiteration drove a large immediate move and may influence near-term sentiment and positioning around Nvidia’s AI infrastructure and AI-PC ecosystem.
Nvidia expands AI platform with new CPU and PC offerings, shares jump Proactive Mon, June 1, 2026 at 9:12 PM GMT+2 2 min read NVDA BAC Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA, XETRA:NVD) ’s latest announcements at its GTC Taipei event have reinforced the company's position in artificial intelligence infrastructure while expanding its reach into new computing markets, according to Bank of America, which maintained a 'Buy' rating and $350 price objective on the stock. Shares added more than 6% following the event to trade at $225. The bank’s analysts wrote that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's keynote at the event highlighted the company's growing end-to-end infrastructure platform for agentic AI, spanning data centers, networking, software and endpoint devices.
Among the key announcements was the production ramp of Nvidia's Vera Rubin platform, which the company described as a five-rack AI factory system designed to deliver significantly higher performance and efficiency for AI workloads. Bank of America wrote that the platform strengthens Nvidia's competitive position by offering lower token costs and higher throughput, key metrics for AI inference. The analysts noted that the Vera Rubin platform includes Nvidia's Vera CPU, networking and storage technologies, expanding the company's addressable market beyond graphics processors.
Bank of America wrote that the Vera CPU could become a major growth driver as AI systems require increasingly powerful processors to keep GPUs fully utilized. The firm estimates Nvidia could generate roughly $20 billion in Vera-related sales during the second half of fiscal 2027 and potentially become the largest server CPU vendor by fiscal 2028, reaching an annual revenue run rate exceeding $50 billion. The firm described the Vera CPU as one of Nvidia's most significant product introductions, citing performance advantages over traditional x86-based processors in AI-focused applications.
Nvidia also unveiled RTX Spark, a new AI-focused chip developed with Microsoft for Windows-based personal computers. The product is designed to run large AI models locally and support personal AI agents, extending Nvidia's AI strategy from cloud infrastructure to endpoint devices. Bank of America wrote that RTX Spark could create a new category of AI PCs and may target the top 10% of the Windows market, representing an estimated 25 million to 30 million units annually.
The expansion into server CPUs and AI PCs could increase competitive pressure on traditional x86 processor vendors, according to the firm. Bank of America wrote that the announcements represent a negative read-through for Intel and Advanced Micro Devices as Nvidia broadens its presence across servers, workstations and personal computers. Despite the heightened competition, the analysts noted that the overall market opportunity remains large enough to support multiple participants as AI adoption continues to expand across enterprises and consumers.
