Stellantis, Wayve and Uber partner to deploy robotaxi services Proactive Wed, June 17, 2026 at 7:00 PM GMT+2 2 min read STLA UBER Stellantis NV (NYSE:STLA, EPA:STLA) , Wayve, and Uber Technologies Inc (NYSE:UBER, XETRA:UT8)  have announced a new partnership aimed at accelerating the global rollout of fully autonomous ride-hailing services, marking a significant step in the race to commercialize driverless mobility. The agreement, disclosed Wednesday, outlines plans for the three companies to collaborate on the development and deployment of Level 4 (L4) robotaxis, vehicles capable of operating without human drivers under defined conditions. The initiative combines Stellantis’ vehicle manufacturing capabilities, Wayve’s artificial intelligence driving software, and Uber’s global ride-hailing platform.

Under the partnership, Stellantis will design and produce vehicles built on its “L4-Ready Platforms,” which include integrated sensor systems and engineering tailored for high-use autonomous operations. Wayve will supply its end-to-end AI driving system, designed to navigate complex environments without relying on detailed pre-mapped data, a feature the company says could enable faster expansion into new markets. Uber will integrate the vehicles into its app-based network, allowing users to access autonomous rides through its existing platform.

The collaboration builds on prior agreements among the companies, including ongoing efforts to deploy autonomous ride services in cities such as London and Tokyo. The partners said the new initiative reflects a broader industry trend toward ecosystem-based approaches, where automakers, software developers, and mobility platforms work together to scale autonomous technologies. Executives from all three firms emphasized the complementary nature of the partnership.

“This collaboration brings us closer to delivering a smarter, safer and more efficient mobility for our customers,” said Ned Curic, Chief Engineering and Technology Officer at Stellantis. “By combining our L4-Ready Platforms, designed from the ground up for safe and efficient driverless operation, with Wayve’s adaptive AI and Uber’s global network, we are accelerating the deployment of autonomous vehicles that meet real customer needs and enable seamless mobility at scale in everyday life. ” Kaity Fischer, Wayve’s VP of Commercial & Operations, added: “This is just another strong signal that the industry is converging around Wayve’s technology as the way to scale AVs globally, and we’re excited to continue working with Stellantis and Uber to accelerate the promise of autonomy.

” Stellantis shares were up about 1% on the announcement, while Uber shares edged 1. 3% lower.
